The subject is a male whitetail deer (Odocoileus Virginianus) of the family Cervidae) brought in DOA.
The subject was eviscerated en bloc to facilitate processing. Photo 1 shows the contents of both the thoracic and abdominal cavities. There is a dusting of show due to environmental conditions.
Examination of the visera showed extensive damage to the base of the heart caused by a bullet wound as can be seen in Photos 2 and 3.
